  • Check the electrodes and clean or replace them if necessary to ensure consistent splicing performance.
  • Adjust splicing parameters if needed, such as arc power and duration, which the T-601C can automatically optimize for multimode fibers.

Step 4: Align and Splice

  • Insert the cleaved fibers into the V-grooves of the splicer.
  • The T-601C uses core alignment technology to automatically align the fiber cores for minimal splice loss.
  • Start the splicing process; the splicer will display the alignment and fusion progress on its dual LCD screens.
  • After splicing, the T-601C will perform an automatic splice loss estimation.

Step 5: Protect the Splice

  • Slide a heat-shrink sleeve over the splice and place it in the splicer's heater.
  • Activate the automatic heating cycle to secure the splice and protect it from mechanical stress.

Step 6: Inspect and Test

  • Inspect the splice using the T-601C's built-in microscope or an external inspection scope.
  • Measure optical loss with an OTDR or power meter to ensure the splice meets network specifications. By following these steps, the T-601C ensures fast, precise, and low-loss splicing for multimode optical cables, suitable for FTTH, data centers, and other fiber optic network installations .
