Choosing the Right Fiber

• Multimode fiber (OM2 or higher) is suitable for distances up to 550 meters at 1G or 82 meters at 10G.
• Single-mode fiber is used for longer distances beyond the reach of multimode fiber .
• Ensure LC connectors are used for SFP modules, and verify compatibility with your switch model .
