- Safety: Only use power supplies and cables rated for combined fiber and electrical use. Avoid connecting standard fiber-only cables to a power source, as this can damage equipment and pose a safety hazard.
- Applications: Powered fiber cables are used in remote network devices, security cameras, and other installations where both high-speed data and electrical power are needed over long distances .
- Integration: Devices at the receiving end must be compatible with the powered fiber system, often requiring specialized transceivers or converters .
