Fiber optic internet does not plug directly into a standard home router because the optical signal must first be converted into an electrical signal. Connecting the ONT to Your Router

2. Power on the ONT first, allowing it to establish a connection with your ISP's network.
3. Power on the router afterward, which will receive the converted signal from the ONT and distribute it to your devices via Wi-Fi or additional Ethernet ports .

• Handle the fiber cable carefully; the connectors are sensitive to dirt and damage. Always hold the cable by its plastic housing and remove protective caps before connecting .
• Place both the ONT and router in a dry, well-ventilated area near electrical outlets, ideally with surge protection .
• Ensure the ONT is close to the fiber entry point to minimize signal loss, and use high-quality Ethernet cables (Cat5e or higher) for optimal performance .
