Splice Loss Criteria
- Maximum acceptable splice loss: 0.30 dB per splice.
- If the loss exceeds 0.30 dB, the splice must be re-done.
- After three attempts, the maximum allowable loss is 0.35 dB.
- If two additional re-splicing attempts fail to achieve ≤0.30 dB, the splice is marked out of specification (OOS) .

- Optical Power Meter and Laser Light Source must be used to verify continuity and power loss at 1310 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths.
